Wednesday: Language and Interpretation

Welcome back to overnight camp!

Today we had some baked oatmeal, sausages, fruit, yogurt and cereal for breakfast, but even before that we started our day with a Polar Bear Plunge!

After breakfast, we spent some time in our 2:6 groups and getting our cabins super clean, and then we headed to Camp Wide Game, where we played Phobias! In this game, counsellors act like they are afraid of something our campers didn’t know of, and campers have to find out what that thing is in order to bring them back to our program coordinator, Juniper.

We then dove into our social skills for the day: Language and Interpretation! In this social skill, we learned about the different styles of communication and how they may be perceived by others. We then practiced using assertive communication that is clear, direct and respectful in fun games like Line Up and Lily Pads!

By the time we wrapped up our social skill, we were all hungry, so we headed to lunch where we had ramen and veggies!

After lunch, we had rest hour and then we dove into the day’s choice activities: archery, ziplining and tie dye!

We then wrapped up our day with some free time before having much anticipated pizza for supper: yum!

Last but not least, we ended our night singing and dancing to at our dance, before Steps in the Right Direction and bedtime.

We had so much fun today, and we cannot believe tomorrow is going to be our last full day of camp, but that won’t stop us from having the most fun possible!
