Powder Face East Ridge

The latter part of our week at POLARIS has been packed with adventure.

On Wednesday, we hiked Powderface East Ridge in Kananaskis. The team completed the 7km hike with an incline of 596m, quite a feat for the group. We were determined to pace ourselves and stay together as a group throughout the hike and managed to persevere through the tough inclines. When we reached the peak, we had a fantastic view of the city and mountains on both sides. Once we hiked down, we took a break at Forget-Me-Not pond before heading back to the city. Overall, it was a great experience and wonderful to see the growth in campers from our first hike to our last.

Thursday was our social day. We started off the day by watching a movie followed by laser tag and a pizza party when we got back to Foothills! Campers applied their communication and teamwork skills well and enjoyed the wonderful day they planned themselves

Today, we started the day with a game of gaga ball before campers chose between yoga and capture the flag. We then had one on one conversations with campers, discussing areas where they have grown and areas where we see potential for improvement. We transitioned to our afternoon with a scavenger hunt before attending Kangaroo Court. To end our day, we had a campfire while giving out awards.

Thank you all for a wonderful session, it has been an absolute pleasure to watch our campers grow over the last two weeks. We wish you all the best in the upcoming school year and hope to see you next summer.
