Social Day Planning and Volunteering
It has been a great couple of days at POLARIS!
We spent Monday morning reviewing personality types with the 16 Personalities test. This complemented our work from last week when we determined our leadership styles. Campers can use this information to determine how they lead and recognize their strengths.
Following this we played some intense games of gaga ball and started to plan our Social Day. On Social Day, campers have the opportunity to plan and organize an outing of their choice.
In the afternoon we headed offsite to volunteer at the local garden. We removed some pesky weeds, planted flowers around the garden and re-planted a large tree! It was difficult but rewarding work.

On Tuesday we finished planning our social day. After organizing transportation and budget, campers decided that they would go swimming and practice archery. We then went offsite to the Drop-in Donation Centre. Here we learned about all the good the centre does for the community, packed bed spreads and sorted through clothing donations. Through their hard work and teamwork, campers were able to sort through two very large clothing bins.
