Day 9: Teamwork

Day 9-27.jpg

Welcome back!

We had another fantastic day at camp in the beautiful weather! We started with a classic camp wide game of Temple of Doom and campers enjoyed sprinting and dodging through the temple.

Following camp wide game was social skill, where we learned about teamwork! We learned that working well in a team involves embracing the individual strengths of the group, clear and effective communication, and mutual respect. We also talked about the benefits of teamwork as opposed to solving problems alone. It is often easier to develop creative solutions and think critically with more people working together. We tested this with games of kangaroo golf, human knot and the extreme noodle teamwork challenge.

Following social skill it was time for clubs. In Sport Club, we played hockey on the tarmac, in Outdoor Skills Club we made tree bugs, and in Art Club we made origami.

We took a break for lunch and then moved onto our choice activities. Today campers had the options of Yoga with Gecko, water sports with Ivy or backyard party with Ranger.

After Steps in the Right Direction, the campers headed home for the night. The anticipation is building for tomorrow as one of the counsellors will be slimed in Kangaroo Court!

See you tomorrow!
