DC 1 What are people thinking?

Welcome back campers for the last day of the first week of camp. Today we are going to village for swimming! We start off the day with announcements and head towards the main field for Camp Wide Game!

Today’s Camp Wide Game was temple of doom! Campers are split up into three teams. Two teams are on the side with dodge balls aiming at the runners in the middle trying to get the treasure from the temple of doom.

We started off social skill with the game ninja, the campers and counselors go one by one in a circle and try to use arms and legs to take them out. This game helps campers read body language and what people are thinking. Campers also had conversations to get to know the other campers. After campers filled out a sheet of questions about themselves. Questions like “What your biggest fear is?” After campers filled it out they tried to guess their friends questions based on the conversation and their own filled sheet. It’s impossible to read minds but having an understanding and picking up cues is important in relationship building.

Today is the day! After lunch we head off to village square for swimming, can you believe 1 week is over already? Next week is going to be great!
