Welcome back for day 2 at camp Amicus! We start off today with announcements where campers get to sign up for their choices. They are introduced to clubs as well. Clubs unlike choice campers stay in their clubs throughout camp instead of changing!

After announcement we head towards the main field for today’s Camp wide game which is phobia. Phobia is where counselors make up a phobia and campers are supposed to guess their phobia based on the counselors reaction and bring them back to the goal . For example one of the counselors was afraid of shoe laces so some campers took of their shoes.

After Camp wide game campers refuel with a quick snack and head towards today’s social skill. Social skill today is Zones of Regulation.

  • Zones of regulation focus on the zone/mood they are in, Red zone is angry, annoyed. Blue zone is sad, tired. Yellow zone is anxious, excited. Green zone is happy, relaxed. Zones of regulation helps campers recognize and identify their moods and help them have a better understanding.

  • One of the activities today campers had to dance to songs and after the song stopped they went to 4 corners of the gym. Each corner had a zone associated with it, campers were to run to the corner on how the song made them feel!

Campers then turned to meditating to calm there energy and help them relax before transitioning towards clubs!

Campers got to choose earlier this morning what club they wanted to be a part of for the rest of camp! Today Sport’s club did wall ball, Art club made Cardboard Art and Science club made Noodle Marsh mellow Architecture.

Campers transition to choices after replenishing with lunch! Today’s choices were Pokemon games where they had multiple games and tasks to fufill to Catch the Pokemon. Other choices were Bead making and Gaga ball!

Campers switch up for their second choice block of the day!

We end off with Steps in the right direction! Where counselors and campers give out steps to whoever they thought did an amazing thing at camp today!
