Today’s Camp Wide Game was human scrabble. Counselors have letters and campers are trying to spell out the name of the counselor they want to get slimed later on in camp. Campers are to chase after the counselors for the letter and have to complete a task the counselors give them! For example play a song on air guitar or act out your favorite animal, dance out to your favorite tune!
After camp wide game we transition towards today’s social skill which is Language and Interpretation.
Campers first began with the game telephone where someone starts saying something and it is passed down the line by whispering. The goal of the game was to help campers understand that if we want a message to get across clearly we have to express it with clarity and intention in our voices!
The second activity we played was matching idioms with what zones they belong in. For example I lost my cool, fits into the red zone. I feel on top of the world would belong in the green zone.
Clubs are next up for the campers! The sports club played lawn games, Science club made bottle rockets and Art club made fans!
Campers head towards the gym for lunch to refuel for choices! Today’s choices are water games, rock painting and 4 square in the air!
Campers switch up their choice blocks after a quick fluids in and fluids out.
After the choice block we end off the day with steps in the right direction, where campers and counselors give out step stickers for anyone who did an amazing thing today at camp!
