“Being part of a group”

Welcome back Campers for day 2 of Camp! We start off today with announcements, campers get to choose 2 choices this morning as well as their clubs for the rest of camp! Clubs will give campers a chance to join a club that interests them and are grouped up with the same people for the rest of camp to build connections!

Following announcements campers move towards the camp wide game. Today’s camp wide game was Phobia! Counselors are to make up a phobia. For example “Phobia of the color blue” Campers would try to figure out their phobia just based on the counselors reaction. Alt camp wide was drawing, coloring and playing with cards!

After Camp Wide Game campers get back in their 2;6 group and snack up while getting geared up for social skill. Our social skill today was focused on “Being part of a group”. Teamwork and collaboration are important parts of life as working together to accomplish a goal is a very important social skill. Campers worked together to lift a stick with only two fingers, in order to do this they had to communicate the timing of lifting the stick down. Campers also built Play-Doh added varation to every campers creation to create a finish Sculpture!

Following social skills the campers head towards clubs! Three options were Sports Club played wall ball, Art club made Cardboard Letters, and Science Club made slime!

After refueling with food campers head towards Choice! Today’s choice were Parachute games, bead making and belly baseball!

Transition time campers switch up to their second choice after a quick snack break we head towards our final block of the day steps in the right direction!

Step stickers are given by counselors and campers to anyone they think has done something amazing today and a true and genuine effort to become a better person day by day. Wow what an eventful day at camp, super excited to see everyone tomorrow!
