Welcome back to camp! Can you believe its been almost a week already? Today we begin with announcements and straight after we head straight towards camp wide game.

Today’s Camp Wide Game is Hostage! Campers are split up into two groups and each group has to save a counsellor that the other team took hostage. Each team needs to hide the Counsellor they took hostage and then work together to try to get back their own Counsellor across the line to win!

Next up after campers refuel with a quick snack we head towards social skill! Today’s social skill is language and interpretation!

  • Campers played pictonary to start with and drew out idioms on exactly how they sounded. One of the campers drew out spilling tea just like “I spilt the tea”

  • Another game campers played was tank, campers teamed up into twos. One was the tank and was blindfolded the other camper was in charge of directing the tank in shoot the ball of yarn at other teams. Campers began with leading with physical touch and no verbal cues. Round two was campers used only verbal cues and no physical touch. The last round had only clapping, noises with no words. Campers learned to not only interpate language in words but also in body language and the environment around them!

  • Campers also played “What do you meme”. They were given 5 captions and an emoji/tone were they found the best caption that fit their meme. All campers learned about the importance of tone, and made a huge difference in the way they speak!

After social skill we head towards clubs! Sports club played hockey, Art club made coffee filter drawings and paper airplanes, and Science club made Ninja star Popsicle sticks.

Following clubs campers recharge before Choice block number 1. Choices today were making slime campaign posters, Archery, Human Foosball and Card Games!

Campers switch up after a quick snack and transition for their second choice block!

We end off today with steps in the right direction, can you believe its been a week! Cant wait to see you tomorrow remember were going swimming later in the day so make sure you bring your swimming gear!
