DC 1 Welcome to Camp Amicus

Welcome to Camp Amicus! We are so excited to have all campers embark on this journey with us.

Campers will engage in activities to promote socializing and self-discovery! Campers foster their own self-confidence as well as communication skills that they can use for the rest of their lives.

We start off every day with announcements where campers get introduced to counsellors and campers. As well as a quick rundown of the day! Campers also get introduced to some camp rules like the three Rs! Respect Ourselves, others and the environment around us.

Every morning after announcements campers head to the main field where we begin camp wide game! Our Camp Wide Game was Cardio Pictionary! Cardio Pictionary is just like Pictionary but campers must chase and tag counsellors to get the word and draw it out to their 2;6 group! This game gets the energy flowing to start the day on the right page.

Campers head towards the camp room after camp wide game is done! They team up with 2;6 to create a group contract for things they want to see in camp and things they don’t! Campers also make camp braids to hold their pins and to represent Amicus!

After a much needed lunch break, campers head towards their choices activities! Today’s choices are lawn games campers played bocce ball, connect 4, bean toss, gaga ball and bead animals!

Campers have a quick snack and switch up their choices for the rest of the day!

Campers end the day with steps in the right direction! Campers and counsellors give out step stickers for anyone they thought did something amazing in camp today! We will see you tomorrow!
