Day 9: Bullying
We cannot believe today was our last day at camp. We started off our day with, you guessed it, camp wide game. Brought back by popular demand, we played human scrabble- underwater edition. Campers were given a hint to guess a word. They had to figure out the word and then chase down counsellors to get the letter’s required to spell the word. Each counsellor only had a specific set of letters. Campers worked together to determine what counsellors had what cards in order to spell their world

After camp wide game, it was time for our social skill. Today, we talked about the different types of bullying, how bullying makes us feel and what we can do when we are being bullied. We specifically talked about being a bystander and how it is important to stand up for people we see who are being bullied.
At clubs today, campers either participated in eco printing for STEM, working on our rap song in Music and Art club, and volleyball in sports club.

This afternoon, we only had one choice block. Campers chose to either work on their stealth skills with Astro or button making and twig crafts with Gecko. After choice we had Kangaroo Court. Kangaroo Court is a honoured tradition here at Camp Amicus. This session, we are sad to report that Ember, Bullseye, Solstice, Oak, BlueJay and Atlas committed some serious crimes against camp. Crimes varied from not allowing campers to have fun (WHAT?!), being too confident that they wouldn’t get slimed (that’s definitely a slimeable offence), dressing up as the Walmart kid for meme day (flip back to meme day to see a picture of this), and trying to be king of the camp. While these crimes are all serious, Campers unanimously decided that Solstice and Bullseye would be tried in court for their crimes. A camper was chosen to be the defence for the plaintiff and one for the defendant. In a wild and unpredictable Kangaroo Court first, witnesses provided distant and clear proof that both Solstice and Bullseye guilty of all crimes against camp.
There was not a dry eye at camp this afternoon when we said goodbye to you all. We are incredibly proud of the growth we have seen in all of you these past two weeks and wish you all a safe and wonderful summer.
