DC 2 Kangaroo Court
Here it is the end of camp, a mixture of emotions of sadness and triumph we end off camp with awards as well as kangaroo court where campers got to put in ballots throughout camp on which counsellor gets slimed.
Today’s Camp Wide Game was Temple of Doom! There are three teams, one needs to get through successfully to the goal to get the treasure from the temple of doom and make it back without getting hit by a barrage of dodgeballs on both sides!
Campers transition for social skills, today's social skill is expected and unexpected behavior. As we grow up throughout life we start to see some expected and unexpected behaviors in situations daily.
It is up to us to figure out whether we are having a lot of unexpected behaviors in situations and adapt! Campers start listing some unforeseen and expected behaviors! As well campers were shown an example of Elf the movie. It's surprising for Elf to be there since he belongs in the North Pole! One of the activities campers play is Machine they are tasked with creating a well-oiled machine with their bodies connecting movements.
A counsellor then asks everyone to close their eyes and messes up one of the movements of the machine! Creating an unexpected behavior! Unexpected behaviours can be well… unexpected and not the best for certain situations being aware and being able to differinate adjust in real time. Campers got to make elf hats to remind them of unexpected and expected behavior!
Campers switch up after snack to their clubs for the day! The sports club played GaGa Ball, the Art Club made Tissue art and the Science club finished their car cardboard balloons!
After lunch campers head towards their last choice for camp! The choice’s were Minute to win it, Spa day and Pirate games!
We end off the day with Kangaroo Court! Campers have been voting and campaigning for who they think has committed a crime against Camp! Multiple Counsellors were up for being slimed Excel, Reign, and Chewy. Even though both sides had great defense lawyers and valid reasons for not getting slimed. The prosecution was on the attack today, therefore the Campers found all GUILTY! What an amazing 2 weeks at camp it has been as we end our time at camp we have nothing but memories to reflect on and to take forward to the rest of the year!
