Today’s Social Skill was Social Problem Solving, Campers start with the game mingle where they get to mingle with counsellors and campers and when theres a stop in mingling campers and counsellors are suppose to form a group of 3 and create for example the Letter A or a Chair! Campers also got themselves into a human knot and by working together and communicating they were able to get out of it.
Problem solving can be hard when it’s by ourselves and sometimes even harder with others but the best course of action is to communicate with each other and adapt to our situation and try to grow from it.
Campers also played capture the flag where if they run out of flags campers have to go anwser a question. One of the questions was if someone kicked your chair down what level problem it would be campers needed to anwser if it was a small problem , big problem or a huge problem. Campers got the blood flowing while learning to differente different size problems and how you would deal with them differently!
After transition campers head towards their clubs for the day! Sports club played basketball and soccer, Science club made cardboard cars and Art club made trading cards!
Campers refuel with lunch break and after they head towards their choices for the day! Today’s choices are water games and lawn games!
We end off our day with steps in the right direction! Its going to be a hot one tomorrow at Calaway make sure to bring your camp shirt, sunscreen and water!
