DC 3 Social Problem Solving

It’s the second week of camp, are you ready? because we’re ready! It begins with our Camp Wide Game Cardio Pictionary.

Our Camp Wide Game today was Cardio Pictionary where campers had to chase a counsellor and complete a task like beating them in rock paper scissors or show off their best dance move. Campers prompt was they had to get enough letters to spell out a counsellor they want slimed to win!

Campers begin identifying what a big problem and a small problem are with their bodies! Big issues would expand like a tree if it was smaller one they would shrink. Helping determine the problem is the first step to solving it. As we deal with all issues differently, a small problem for someone might be a big one for somebody else!

One of the activities campers played was "dude" where they got cards with different people saying, dude. There was a cowboy dude and a pizza dude. Dude can be said in a different tone and it can mean something entirely differently, just like problems are different they need to be understood and explained to understand the meaning and tone behind it.

Problem-solving can be hard and sometimes there can be overreactions to problems that can be fixed easily. The first step is to identify our problems and work together to help each other fix them, another perspective on a problem might be the one that solves it. Campers worked together trying to lift up and down a hula hoop without the right communication and teamwork the problem stays the problem but if we work together as a team it can be fixed.

After Social Skill Campers head towards their clubs! Sport’s club played soccer, Art club made paper crafts and Science club made catapults!

Campers refuel with lunch and head towards their choice’s for today! Today’s choices were Gaga ball, Tye die T shirt making and Zine book creating.

Campers switch for their second choice and we cap off the day with steps in the right direction! Have an amazing rest of your day we will see you tomorrow!
