DC 3 Steps in the right direction

Here we are… the end of camp, can you believe it? The last 2 weeks have been filled with amazing shared experiences and memories that will last a life time.

We start off the day with announcements and are headed towards our Camp Wide Game, Temple of doom where campers line up for a goal of treasure and try to get slimed.

Campers transition towards Camp Wide Game. Today it was Temple of Doom! There are three teams, one needs to get through successfully to the goal to get the treasure from the temple of doom and make it back without getting hit by a barrage of dodgeballs on both sides!

Campers head towards their social skill today which is unexpected and expected behaviour. Campers first begin by answering some wacky questions one was “ What shirt are you wearing tomorrow? “ The answer to that question would be there is no camp tomorrow and how are we supposed to know what we are even wearing tomorrow though. Campers with this activity start to identify unexpected behaviors and expected behaviour with this activity. Buddy the Elf is a great example of unforeseen behaviour in expected situations in public we don’t expect even on Christmas an elf walking around acting like an elf in the middle of the street.

We can’t always control our thoughts, feelings and behaviours but having an understanding of what is an unexpected behaviour and expected behaviour.

After a much needed break campers head towards their clubs! Sports club played Jackpot and Art club drew and Science club made marshmellow and noodle bridges!

Campers head to lunch and then are off to their last choice of camp! Water games and Card making!

Today was the last day of camp! The camper’s have been voting for who they think deserves to be slimed for crimes against camp! It was reckoning day and three accused criminals of camp were up on the chopping block… Chewy, Delfino and Hawk. All had valid defences but all went down with slime. What an amazing time the last 2 weeks have been making great memories.

Always a mixture of emotions at the end of camp as we wrap up the last 2 weeks were spent making new friends and experiences that will plunge us forward into the rest of the year and memories that will last a life time!
