DC 3 Welcome to Camp Amicus

Welcome to Camp Amicus! It is Day one and we are here, where are we at? We are at Camp Amicus thriving, surviving and all the above!

The first day of camp is like the first time you try out swimming! Youre scared, terrified but also extremely excited to jump right in!

Campers begin at the tarmac where they get introduced to campers and counsellors. Campers also learn about some ground rules like The three respects, Respect yourself, respect others and the environment around us! The gates are off and campers are out!

Every morning after announcements campers head to the main field where we begin camp wide game! Our Camp Wide Game was Cardio Pictionary! Cardio Pictionary is just like Pictionary but campers must chase and tag counsellors to get the word and draw it out to their 2;6 group! This game gets the energy flowing to start the day on the right page.

Campers refuel with water and a snack as they group with their 2:6. This is when campers and counselors group up to make their braid for camp! Where campers hang their bling and badges from camp they’ll earn this summer! As well as their group contract campers write down the things they want to see at camp and some things they don’t want to see at camp!

Campers switch towards their choice of the day! Campers choose between Bracelet making, Just dance and 9 Square in the air!

Campers end the day with steps in the right direction! Campers and counsellors give out step stickers for anyone they thought did something amazing in camp today! We will see you tomorrow!
