ON 1 How Others are Feeling

Our first day of camp flew by! We have been having lots and lots of fun. We started off our day with a a polar bear dip! Polar Bear Dip hs to be one of our favourite things here at camp. The first thing we do when we wake up in the morning is walk down to the pool and go for a dip! For a lot of us it’s a great way to start the day! Next up was a yummy breakfast of hash browns and eggs with fruit.

After breakfast, we met with our amazing program coordinator, Aurora for a camp wide game of fear factor. Campers work with their counsellors to determine what their counsellor’s fear is and guide them to safety without coming into contact with some of these fears.

We then headed into our social skill were we talked about what other people might be feeling in different situations. Campers did a great job working together to determine how they might feel in different situations and how they think other people could feel.

After our social skill, we had a snack and transitioned to lunch and then rest hour. For rest hour we went to our cabins and relaxed as we were all pretty tied. Following rest hour we have choice were we had the option of going rock climbing, canoeing, or making Kangaroo court posters. Choice was lots of fun for all of us as we got to try some new activities for the first time and even revisit some that we know we already love.

After choice, we had 2:6 time with our counsellors and campers in our groups and some free time before dinner. During this time, we play some back-pocket games, read, and play gaga ball to name a few.

Following free time, we had supper and then headed out for a game of capture the flag with Aurora. Then, we had steps were we all had an opportunity to tell campers and counsellors some of the steps that we all took in the right direction today. This is one of our favourite things to do when we are at camp. It’s a really special time to us and was a great way to get ready for bed.

We are looking forward to another wonderful day at camp tomorrow. The sun should be out a little bit more (we hope), but nevertheless continue to have fun!
