ON 6 Welcome to Camp!

Welcome to camp amicus’ overnight blog!

After we got to our wonderful camp space, we played a few back pocket games with our cabin groups to get to know each other a little better. Games like Rhythm master and ninja were so fun while we waited for our cabins to be ready! After that we all got together for a community meeting to discuss some basic rules of camp.

• Respect ourselves, each other, and the property.

• Cruise in twos, with shoes!

• No technology!

After that we also had a snack before we got into our first 2:6 time of the week! Here we made a group contract that outlined things we wanted to see at camp vs what we didn’t want to see. We also made some braids and just got to know each other a little better too!

For dinner we had chicken stir fry with rice. Then after we cleaned up we went down to the point to have our first campfire of the session! Here we sang silly songs, danced and did our steps in the right direction. Steps happens every single day at camp, and its a way to say thank you to each other for the little things like, for having such an awesome vibe, or for letting me leave before you on the bus!

After all that we got ready got bed. Today was the most perfect way to start the week off, and we cannot wait for all the smiles and laughs this week will have.
