Day 7: Feedback

Photo bombs for the win

Welcome back! 

Camp may have looked a bit different today, as it was transformed for character day! Counsellors and campers arrived dressed as their favourite characters from a variety of different stories. To name just a few, Robin Hood, Big Bird, Spongebob, Sully and Waldo all showed up for camp today!

After announcements from all the characters, we moved onto our camp wide game of Among Us! Just like the app, campers completed tasks around their spaceship (the field) while trying to see who the imposter was. While the imposters caused lots of havoc around the ship, and came dangerously close to knocking out the oxygen supply, the crewmates figured out who the imposters were and saved the ship!

Next on the schedule was social skill, where the focus was on giving and receiving feedback. With both Gecko and Oak, we discussed the importance of giving and receiving kind and constructive feedback in order to better ourselves and each other. We had a blast while role playing giving feedback, learning about the feedback sandwich, and pieing Spice-E in the face. A question to potentially ask your camper is, how can you give feedback while being kind?

After a snack and some water we transitioned to clubs! In Sport Club, we played Pirates of the Caribbean Cannon Ball with Jer-Bear, in Outdoor Skills Club we made Smores with Eclipse, and in Art Club we made bracelets!

We then took a break for lunch to recharge before heading to choice activities! Campers either canoed with T-Bone in How to Train Your Dragon themed canoeing, created Dungeons and Dragons characters with Astro, or channeled their inner Robin Hood in archery with Ivy!

Before we knew it, it was time for Steps in the Right direction and then pick up. We will certainly miss the characters tomorrow, but are excited for another great day of camp!
