Day 8: Digital Communication

It was another day of fun in the sun out here at camp! We started with announcements before moving into the forest for a game of capture the flag. Campers always love darting through the forest and finding creative places to hide the flag from the other team.

After camp wide game, we took a quick break before moving onto our social skill of the day- digital communication. Understanding how to navigate the internet and how to safely communicate through the internet is becoming incredibly important. T-Bone and Ranger  discussed what safe online communication looks like with the campers and ran activities decrypting emoji messages. A question to potentially ask your camper may be, what are some ways you can communicate safely online? Some things we discussed today were only talking to people you trust and asking an adult if you are not sure.

Following social skill was clubs! In Sport Club we played basketball, in Art Club we made sensory sticks, and in Outdoor Skills Club we played camouflage.

We then took a break for lunch and spent some time out of the sun. Next up was choice activities where campers played water games with Axel, completed a photo-scavenger hunt with Jean or painted EVERYTHING with Eclipse!

After choice we all met at the gathering place for Steps in the Right Direction. We cannot believe tomorrow is the last day of camp, but we are excited to see who will get slimed and for the slideshow!
