Day 9: Body Language

Welcome back to another fantastic day at camp! We began with announcements before moving into our camp wide game of the day- Human Tracker! In this game, a group of campers must seek out and tag all other players. When they tag someone else, they become a Human Tracker as well. We loved finding the secret hiding spots in the forest and darting through the trees.

Following camp wide game we moved to our social skill of the day- body language. Solstice explained that there are three things to look for in a person’s body language: their physical and verbal expression, the words they are saying and their actions. By paying attention to these things we can make a good guess as to how they are feeling and if we should talk to them. A question you can potentially ask your camper is, how can you tell if someone is happy? How can you tell if they are upset?

After social skill we moved into our clubs! In Outdoor Skills Club we went on a Minecraft-themed nature walk, in Sports Club we played handball and in Art Club we painted sculptures.

After clubs we ate our lunch before splitting up for choice activities. Campers chose from Pokemon, yard games or dodgeball fort making.

We then transitioned to Steps in the Right Direction before heading home for the day.

Have a great night and see you tomorrow!
