DC 4 Welcome to Camp Amicus

Welcome to Camp Amicus, campers! We are so excited to have you back here for this exciting week of fun at camp amicus!

We begin the day with announcements campers get to choose their choices for today and are introduced to their 2:6 group as well as some of the rules of camp!

  • Respect Ourselves, Others and Our environment

  • Always tell a counselors if we are going somewhere

Our camp wide game today was human scrabble! Jenga, coloring, drawing were today’s camp wide alt game. An alternative to human scrabble if some campers didn’t want to join in!

  • Each camper is to chase after a runner/letter holder to get a letter. After the camper tags the runner they are given a letter.

  • Campers are sent to find as many letters as they can, using found letters they must work together to form a word that they are excited to see in camp

  • There can only be one runner and they can only take one letter at a time, the team with the longest word/phrase wins.

Campers get moving and familiar with each other right away with this camp wide game where everyone has a task to work together to complete the word/ phrase!

After Our camp wide game we transitioned towards 2:6 time campers and counselors got to know each other better by making braids as well as writing out a camp contract on things they want to see and things they don’t want to see at camp! Campers also got to play in the gym as they get familiar with campers and counselors.

After 2:6 time campers switch to their first choice block of the day, choices are water games, dungeon and dragons and 9 square in the air!

Campers switch up to their second choice block of the day!

We end off today with steps in the right direction where campers and counselors give out step stickers for something someone did today for example following the rules of respect! The campers come up to the front in their 2:6 and give out a reason why they want to give the specific person a step sticker! We will see you tomorrow.
