DC 2 Expected and unexpected behavior

Wow is it really the last day of camp, were sad to see you go but everything good comes to an end. After camp wide game we headed towards social skills!

Today’s social skills focused on expected and unexpected behavior

  • Life brings a lot of unexpected behavior and situations into our lives and usually people expect us to act a certain way this is true at camp, school, sports team and all aspects in our lives. We can’t always control our thoughts, feelings and behaviors.

  • One of our activities we had was human machines where campers were given a scenario and acted out the scenario one of the campers were given the role of the disruptive and the campers had to guess who it was. Campers try to identify the unexpected behavior.

  • Our other activity was match making. Campers match a set of expression photos with a scenario the campers gave them.

In certain situations we need to expect certain behavior from ourselves and others as well as unexpected and not okay behavior from ourselves and others.

We moved towards clubs. Today Sports club played soccer and passed the beach ball, Art club made paper planes and drew and Science club made bouncy balls!

Next after a well needed lunch break on an extremely hot day we head towards our first choice block of the day. Water games, making sensory sticks, drawing and carnival games.

We ended off our day with a kangaroo court and awards, where campers have been voting the last 2 weeks on which campers should get slimed! The last 2 weeks have flown by that’ s what happens when your having fun, we hope you have a great rest of your summer and hope to see you next year!
