DC 3 Zones of Regulation

Welcome back campers, were glad to have you back for the second day of camp! We start off today with announcements where campers chose their choices for today and which clubs they want to be in for the rest of camp!

Campers are ready to transition towards camp wide game today’s camp wide game was phobia!

  • Camp counselors chose a phobia and would go on the other side of the field. The campers tried to guess the phobia based on how the counselors reacted to the camper approaching them.

  • Some phobias today were walking backwards, having a hat on phobia, having shoes on phobia, dandelion phobia

Next up campers transition towards our social skill for today. The focus of today was Zones of Regulation.

  • Zones of Regulation focus on the mood/zone an individual is in. Red is angry, panicked, overwhelmed. Yellow is excited, anxious, worried. Blue is upset, tired, stressed. Green is calm, happy, relax. Putting emotions and reactions to zones help make it recognizable.

  • One of the activities campers worked on was Emotion Bingo. Campers are given a bingo card with face reactions, The counselor calls out an emotion and if the campers have the emotion/face reaction on their card they will draw in the box.

  • Campers do this until they get fill out 5 faces on their sheet each bingo the camper decides which counselor they want to add more shaving cream to the plate and in the end the counselors get creamed.

Campers transition towards clubs! Sports club played basketball, Art club made crafts and Science club made slime!

After a much needed lunch break campers head towards choices they picked earlier today. Fort dodge ball, dungeon and dragons and water games were today’s choices.

Campers switch up as they head towards their second choice block of the day.

We end off today with steps in the right direction. Campers and counselors give out step stickers for campers and counselors for having a step in the right direction, an example can be following the respect rules. We will see you tomorrow!
