DC 1 Teamwork!

We are so excited to have you back for another exciting day at camp! We started off today with a game called everything but the kitchen sink! Campers are mingling and intertwining to begin with, the counselors then shout out a number and something from the kitchen! 4 Microwave! Campers are then to group up with whatever the number was and to act out the object with their body! A great way to start off the day before the Camp Wide Game!

Today’s camp wide game was phobia! Camp Counselors chose a phobia and the campers tried to guess the phobia based on the reaction from the camp counselor! Sock phobia, dandelion phobia, hat phobia just to name a few!

After the camp wide game we had time to recharge with snacks and talk about our goals! Upcoming we transitioned to social skills! This is an essential part of camp and our day today! Campers build team work, communication skills and much more! Today’s game is focused on teamwork. Brain scrambler was the game today! Campers were given a sheet of words to unscramble! Some words were positioned on the sheet where you just needed to move the paper into the position to figure out the word. After a word was unscrambled the camper would bring it to a camp counselor to exchange it for a puzzle piece! Campers worked together to figure out what words were hidden and solve the puzzle by themselves!

Once we refueled we were ready to start clubs! Campers choose from Science, Art and Sport Clubs! Science club made slime, preparing for awards! The Art Club made crafts out of cardboard and yarn! The Sports Club played basketball and bowled with traffic cones!

After clubs we began with our choices that the campers made earlier today! Gaga ball, making a terrarium and painting rocks!

As we transition to the end of the day we start giving out steps! Where each camper can give a step sticker to a counselor and camper for a good deed done today! What an eventful day! Excited for tomorrow!
