DC 2 What people are thinking
Wow can’t believe its been a week of camp already today we are headed off to village square for swimming, but first we start off today with camp wide game.
After announcements we start off today with camp wide game today’s camp wide game was temple of doom in the gym. The campers are divided into three teams. The runner team tries to get across the field to collect the treasure on the other side and return it theirs! The other two are tasked with hitting the runner with the dodge balls before the runner can reach the goal! Teams switch up and the team with the most treasure wins!
Campers transition towards to social skills after, today’s social skill is what are people thinking!
Campers begin with the quiet game campers put their heads down and a counselor comes around to tap them on their shoulder. “I am here” the camper chose shouts out and the other campers guessed who it was, most guessed right because they recognized peoples voices.
Another game campers played was a mind reader guessing what hand had a piece of paper left or right and which camper had the piece of paper. Campers needed to investigate with their team to decide which campers had the paper, picking up on reactions and non-verbal communication "thinking with our eyes”
What do we wonder about? Campers wrote on bubbles and shared to see similar thoughts they had!
Campers learned about non-verbal communication and that it is almost impossible to read someones mind but at the same time they can be thinking the same as you! As well as always asking is the best way to figure out what someone is thinking.
After campers transitioned towards clubs! Sports club played wax museum and kickball, science club made unpoppable bubbles and art club made paper planes.
We ended clubs a bit earlier today to have more time for a big lunch, then we are off to the village square for swimming. What a week at camp can’t wait too see you back next week!
