Day 5: Teamwork
We can’t believe that our first week at camp has come to an end. Throughout this week, you may have begun to notice our daily routine. We began our day with morning announcements before jumping into a camp wide game of Cardio Pictionary. Cardio Pictionary is similar to regular Pictionary except campers had to tag a counsellor and complete a task in order to get a word that they would then draw out for their teams in their 2:6 groups. This activity was a great introduction to our focus of the day- teamwork! Campers worked together to guess what was being drawn and organize whose turn was next.

After camp wide game, we came inside for a snack and had some 2:6 time where campers discussed their goals with counsellors. A good question to potentially ask your camper is, what are your goals while you are at camp? Perhaps your camper is hoping to make some new friends, or trying new choices every day. We then transitioned into activities surrounding teamwork with Phoenix where we discussed what teamwork means to us. A good question to potentially ask your camper is, what qualities make up a good team member? Or how can you be a good teammate? In order to reinforce the importance of patience, taking turns and listening to others, we participated in two activities, the electric grid and fill the bucket.

For clubs today, we made slime in STEM club, worked on our frisbee skills in Sports Club, and learned how to play Boomwhackers in Music/Art Club. After clubs, we transitioned into lunch and then choice. For choice this afternoon, we had floor hockey with Brontosaurus, button making with Monarch and we made sock puppet’s with Atlas. If your camper was part of the button making club or sock puppets today, they may have some awesome buttons and sock puppets to show you!
