Day 5: Humour

We cannot believe we are at the end of our first week of camp! By now, you may have caught on to our routine here at camp. We began with announcements from our visiting friend, Pebbles before heading over to the field for a camp wide game of force field. Force field is similar to capture the flag, but there are more flags and only one team is on offence.

Following camp wide game we had a snack and hydrated before transitioning into our social skill of the day- humour. Humour can be a tricky skill to master. What can be funny to one person can be very hurtful to another. Monarch discussed the importance of context, the nature of the humour, and what topics we should never joke about. Some questions you can potentially ask your camper are, what is something that you can always joke about? What is something that might be okay to joke about depending on the situation, and what is something you should never joke about regardless of the situation?

Afterwards, it was time for clubs. In STEM Club, we made paper airplanes and in Art/Music Club, we created some beautiful images with finger paint.

After lunch, we transitioned into choice. For choice this afternoon, campers had the opportunity to learn archery with Bluejay, work on their gardening skills with Phoenix, and/or take part in water games with Atlas.

We ended our day with Steps in the Right direction and since it was one of our friend’s birthday today, Bullseye was pie’d in the face!

That’s all for today, we hope you have a wonderful long weekend and look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday for Character day where your camper gets to come to camp dressed as their favorite character!
