Day 3: Entering Groups

DSC06018.jpeg

Welcome back to another wonderful and wacky Wednesday at camp! We started off our morning with announcements before jumping into a camp wide game of hostage. In this game, campers choose a counsellor from the other team to hide. Each team’s goal is to find them and save their counsellors without being tagged! Both teams did an incredible job, and it took the whole time for counsellors to be saved.

After camp wide game, we had a snack and drank some water before transitioning to our social skill of the day- entering groups! Bluejay and Brontosaurus lead us through conversations about how to enter into groups. Campers worked together to discuss different scenarios and what they may do differently if they were in that situation. Campers also acted out a good way to enter into a conversation and a poor way of entering into a conversation. A good question to potentially ask your camper may be, what is a good way to enter into a group? Today we discussed the importance of introducing yourself and not taking over the conversation.

Before we knew it, it was time for lunch and choice! For choice today, we had water games with Atlas, yoga and spa day with Ember, and Kangaroo Court signs with Gecko!
