Day 5: Teamwork
We cannot believe that we are at the end of our first week at camp! We started off the morning with announcements and then a game of human tracker. In this game, campers hide and a select team of super spies go out to look where they may be hiding. We all took turns hiding and being the super spies and had a great time looking for all the wonderful hiding spots on the Foothills property.
After camp wide game, we had some water and a snacks before transitioning to our social skill of the day- teamwork! Bullseye and Atlas lead discussions about the importance of teamwork and how we can all be good team members. A good question to potentially ask your camper may be, what makes a good team member? Today, we discussed how it’s important to listen to those around us, be patient, and cooperate, among many. We discovered through our conversations that we use teamwork skills every day, from playing sports, to doing group work at school. We also discussed how sometimes teamwork can be really difficult, especially when you think your idea might be better than someone else's. In those instances, it can be a good idea to step back, take a deep breath, listen to others and then revisit our idea if there's doesn’t work. Chances are, we have a wonderful opportunity to learn a new perspective!

Next up, it was time for clubs. At STEM Club, we had a bridge building competition. In Sports Club, we played lawn games and in Art/Music Club, we learned how to play a variety of songs with boomwhackers!
Before we knew it, it was time for lunch and then choice! This afternoon for choice we had Quidditch with Radar, bug catching with Bluejay, and button making with Brontosaurs.

As we neared the end of the day, we took some time to reward campers and give kudos for Steps in the Right Direction before heading home.
That’s all for today. We hope you all have a safe and wonderful weekend and we look forward to another wonderful session next week!
