Day 8: Humour

Welcome to another wonderful wacky Wednesday in the ocean camp wilderness. Camp was transformed into an underwater wonderland filled with schools of fish (I mean campers) swimming from activity to activity. We began our morning with announcements and then an ocean themed game that involved all sorts of activities like shaving King Trident's shaving foam bead with water guns, catching jellyfish, and surfing for treasure.

After camp wide game, we had a snack and drank some water before swimming over to our social skill on humour. Gecko and Phoenix led discussions around the complexity and subjectivity of humour. We discussed that there are certain topics that are not funny and should never be joked about and there is some humour that is funny to some may not be funny to others. We also shared the different forms of humour that we each find funny and why.

After social skill it was time for clubs. In STEM Club, we had a skittle water ocean experiment. In Sports Club, we played the games we created earlier this week, and in Art/Music Club, we made shell art.

Before we knew it, we were paddled over to lunch and some free time before heading to choice. This afternoon, campers chose from kelp (community) garden activities with Monarch, water Pokemon Go with Brontosaurus, and ocean crafts with Ember.
