Day 9: Others’ Emotions
We cannot believe that tomorrow is our last day of camp! This week has absolutely flown by and it was no surprise that today was another busy day. We began with announcements before our camp wide game of Sardines.

After camp wide game, we had a snack and some water before transitioning to our social skill of the day- responding to other people’s emotions. Knowing how other people are feeling and how we can support them is an important skill in many areas of our lives. While we don’t know what someone is thinking all of the time, we can work on reading others’ body language and discuss what an appropriate response to someone’s emotions may be. Some good questions to ask your camper are, how can you tell if someone is in the blue zone? How could you support that person if they need support? Today we discussed how sometimes if someone is in the blue zone an appropriate response may be to ask that person if they need a hug. If they’re in the red zone, maybe they need some space.

After social skill, it was time for clubs. In STEM club, we made play dough, in Art/Music Club we had karaoke, and in Sports Club, we played dodgeball.
After clubs, it was time for lunch and then choice! This afternoon we had ninja super spy training with Gecko, games with Radar, and comic writing with Bronto.

Before we knew it, it was Steps in the Right Direction and some free time before heading home.
That’s all for today, but we are looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow for our last day of camp!
