ON 4 - Day 2: Expected / Unexpected Behaviours
Day two of camp started with one of our favourite camp amicus traditions! POLAR PLUNGE. But this time with a twist… Instead of doing our polar plunge in the pool, we are doing it in the pond!
A few brave campers took the challenge and jumped into the pond, and the water was surprisingly warm.
We then had breakfast which was a peaceful meal of pancakes, sausages, whipped cream and oranges.
Our counselors sold their choices, which were spa day, gaga ball, and archery/itc.
After some 2:6 / free time it was time for camp wide game, we played forcefield, a capture the flag style game where a team of attackers must sneak into the defenders circle and steal their flags.
Today’s social skills is expected / unexpected behaviours. This social skill helps campers to learn how to better maintain friendships/partnerships in their lives through the use of expected behaviours. These can be being reliable, trustworthy and supportive, while unexpected behaviours in these situations could be being hurtful, inconsistent and dishonest. We want to and balance our open communication with solid boundaries to make sure we have the best relationships with those around us.
Lunch was taco bowls, with tortilla chips, salsa and veggies. Which led right into our rest hour, where our campers can take some time to do low energy activities in their cabins, like reading, writing, drawing and more!
It was time to split up for choice! We all had so much fun shooting arrows, getting our nails painted and gaga balling until we dropped.
For dinner we had chicken nuggets with fries and vegetables. Then it was time for the dance!
We finished up our day with steps, and headed to bed for some good rest. See you all tomorrow!
