ON 2 Monday: Language and Communication

Welcome to day 2 at Camp Amicus!

This morning we woke up to a blue sky that had no clouds in sight, perfect for our morning polar bear dip! This is where we all jump in the pool as soon as we wake up. Then after we got ready for the day, we headed inside for breakfast, where we had scrambled eggs and toast with a side of fruit.

After breakfast, we jumped right into a camp wide game of “Fear Factor.” In this activity counsellors act like they are afraid of something our campers didn’t know of, and would have to find out what that thing is in order to bring them to our wonderful program coordinator, Aurora. Right after we got into our social skills program to learn about Language and Communication, with activities like, “tank!” In this activity, we partnered up and then one of us would have our eyes closed and be the shooter, and the other would have to guide the shooter to take down other enemy tanks.

For lunch today we had chicken fingers and fries! Then went back into our cabins for hour rest hour, where we are encouraged to sleep, before our choice activities!

For choices we got to choose two of rock climbing, canoeing, or a low energy activity, where we would make posters for our Kangaroo court, that would be posted around camp! But after choice they were given more 2:6 time and a bit of free time before dinner.

After dinner, we all got together to play capture the flag, and did our steps in the right direction.
